The following 2017 records management conferences can be beneficial to records management vendors and their customers.

E-Discovery, Records & Information Management Conference & Expo

The 14th annual E-Discovery, Records & Information Management Conference & Expo is scheduled to take place on March 16. This event will highlight the perpetual growth of digital information, which has dramatically expanded the capacity of digital records management.

The conference will address current technology-based requirements and case studies in which digital records management and e-Discovery programs were managed successfully. In addition, leaders in the space will discuss case studies for remaining compliant and handling workflow issues.

All government professionals can attend this conference for free.

Association for Information and Image Management (AIIM) Conference

The annual AIIM Conference will take place on March 13 through 16 in Orlando, Florida. The event will focus on leadership roles within the industry. Speakers will address the skills, traits and practices that can help RIM professionals have an evolving and expanding role, allowing them to turn business information into a competitive advantage.

Regulatory Submissions, Information, and Document Management Forum

The Regulatory Submissions, Information, and Document Management Forum is slated to take place February 6 through 8 at the Bethesda North Marriott Hotel and Conference Center in North Bethesda, Maryland. This forum is designed to focus on electronic document management (EDM), electronic regulatory submissions (ERS) and regulatory information management (RIM).

The conference will discuss developing and evolving operational standards, as well as best practices and proper procedures for submitting, developing and maximizing the use of regulatory information. This event will also address the standards related to regulatory information, as well as the tools needed to efficiently manage the records and central matters influencing the international regulatory landscape.

This conference is designed to benefit global submission managers, records managers, data managers, IT and support personnel, quality assurance professionals, compliance professionals, vendor relationship managers and more.

Chief Information Governance Office (CIGO) Summit

The annual CIGO Summit is scheduled to take place on May 24 in Chicago, Illinois. This event is designed for senior and executive leaders in records management, information management, data analytics, cybersecurity and other information governance (IG) disciplines. The CIGO Summit is an invitation-only affair, and it's considered to be one of the more prestigious conferences in the records management industry. As the event focuses more on leadership roles, it isn't designed for beginners in the space. The CIGO Summit format is relatively simple: An industry expert will speak for approximately 15 minutes before opening up a 30-minute panel discussion per session.

The duties of the CIGO professional are to educate and initiate information governance implementation throughout the entire organization. This summit will address what should be included in the CIGO's portfolio and the individual or group to whom the CIGO should report.

All of these 2017 records management conferences have the potential to highly benefit organizations across multiple industries. By attending an event this upcoming year, you can engage with your peers and learn about exciting new advancements in your field.
