Offsite Tape Vaulting

Iron Mountain is the leading provider of tape backup and archival services for the federal government. We index, duplicate, and archive your tapes to ensure information is accessible when you need it, and recoverable in the event of an emergency or disaster.

Tapes are securely transported to and stored in protected facilities near major metropolitan areas and hot zones. We provide a rigorous workflow and audit trail to ensure full accountability and online tracking, scheduling, and reporting to help you manage your information. Once your tapes are indexed and stored in our facility they can be easily retrieved and delivered on request.

Whenever disaster strikes, Iron Mountain Disaster Recovery Support services are there to help you quickly recover mission-critical data and restore operations. If needed, we’ll call in our 24/7 critical response team to provide you with recovery support. In addition, these services enable you to define, test and validate a disaster recovery plan that aligns with your COOP objectives

Online Backup

PC and Mac Online Backup

As the federal government’s employees and information become increasingly mobile, Iron Mountain Connected® Backup for PC and Mac ensures: continuity of operations, full compliance with federal and agency regulations, and ease of legal discovery.

If a laptop crashes or is stolen, damaged, or lost Connected® Backup ensures all files and sensitive information is still available and accessible securely. To recover the lost information, a secure web portal provides authorized users access to the data anytime, anywhere.

Organize and Access Laptop and Desktop Data

Keeping information organized and easily accessible for Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests, the Open Government Directive, internal audits, and eDiscovery has become increasingly difficult and costly as the volume of information continues to grow and mobility increases. Iron Mountain Connected Classify & Collect helps organizations ensure laptop and desktop data is accessible in order to comply with federal and agency regulations. By reducing time and manpower spent on locating relevant data, Connected Classify & Collect delivers significant cost savings.

As the industry’s first eDiscovery-ready PC data protection solution for an entire organization, Connected Classify & Collect can be used to decrease the cost of, and time spent on, eDiscovery. Because information often resides across silos, integration of the two products allows discovery across all computers and mobile devices within the enterprise; and it quickly generates reports that demonstrate effective compliance with privacy regulations.

Connected Classify & Collect greatly speeds up the time spent searching for relevant information. Users can automate legal holds; quickly search for and find information to meet FOIA, Open Government, and eDiscovery requests; and provide visibility, accessibility, and control over both laptop and desktop data to meet regulatory compliance for Personally Identifiable Information (PII) and internal audits requests.

Maintaining control over sensitive information is an ever-present challenge. With Connected Classify & Collect, users can track the distribution and custody of confidential information on laptops and desktops, quickly uncover a Classified Message Incident (CMI), and produce reports that identify data loss and potential threats.

Federal Government Compliance

Iron Mountain Connected® Backup and Connected Classify & Collect use an embedded Federal Information Processing Standard (FIPS) 140-2, Level 1 validated cryptographic module for Windows XP, Windows 7 PCs, and Windows 2003 servers per the FIPS 140-2 Implementation Guidance section G.5 guidelines.

Iron Mountain recognizes its responsibility to develop electronic and information technology (EIT) products that satisfy federal compliance regulations and services that are accessible and usable by all people, including those with disabilities and special needs. Iron Mountain Connected Backup and Connected Classify & Collect comply with the requirements for clause 1194.21 of Section 508 of the United States (U.S.) Rehabilitation Act.
