5 Easy Steps to Data Security Compliance
Speaker:
Charles Kennedy, Counsel at Morrison & Forester

On-Demand

On June 1, 2005, the Federal Trade Commission adopted the FACTA Disposal Rule, establishing a company's legal responsibility to implement an information disposal program to mitigate consumer fraud and identity theft. As of May 2006, 15 states had passed also information disposal laws to prevent the unauthorized disclosure of personal information.

States are also passing breach notification laws, and the U.S. Congress will likely pass a federal breach notification law before the end of the year.

For the compliance, legal, risk or audit management professional, developing and implementing a compliant data security program can seem overwhelming and daunting. Where does one even begin?

The answer lies in five easy steps. To learn more, we invite you to listen to our May 17, 2006 Web seminar with guest speaker Charles Kennedy, Counsel at Morrison & Foerster and a leading privacy and data protection expert.

This program is 54 minutes in length.
