FUEL SURCHARGE POLICY – Canada
Effective January 2007, Iron Mountain will be implementing a fuel surcharge that is adjusted monthly. Adjustments to the fuel surcharge basis will be effective the first of each month and publicly posted on www.ironmountain.com approximately two weeks prior to the effective date.
The fuel surcharge is indexed to the Canada average diesel pump price survey established by MJ Ervin and Associates, a company that monitors fuel prices across Canada daily. The surcharge is indexed to the price that is two months prior to the adjustment. For example, the surcharge for June 2008 is based on the April 2008 Canada National Average Diesel Fuel Price.

Fuel surcharge percentages and thresholds are subject to change without prior notice. If the fuel surcharge price basis rises above $1.46 per liter or there are changes to the thresholds, the table below will be updated.
Billing: The fuel surcharge will be included on your invoice as a separate line item. The fuel surcharge will be applied against transportation-related charges to include Trip Charges and Shredding Services. Fuel Surcharge
The surcharges will be based on the MJ Ervin and Associates Canada National Average Diesel Fuel Prices for the period November 21, 2006 through December 18 2006. That price will be called the base rate. Assuming that the base rate is $0.904/liter, the following would be the surcharge table:

Examples
Assume that your contracted trip charge is $30. If average fuel price increases to $0.93/liter, the surcharge would be 0.50%. In dollar terms, that would be $30/trip X 0.50% = $0.15/trip surcharge.
For a shredding customer, the surcharge will be applied to your shredding services. If you have a shredding service charge of $100 X 0.50% = $0.50/shredding service surcharge.
If average fuel price increases to $1.12/liter, the surcharge would be 3.00% and, using the same math, the surcharge would be $0.90/trip or $3.00/shredding service.
The table above only goes up to $1.656/liter. If necessary, it will be expanded to cover higher fuel prices.
The surcharge is a percentage so that higher or lower trip and shredding charges will have correspondingly higher or lower surcharges.
