Iron Mountain recognizes the need to adopt specific
plans and procedures to be activated in the event of a hurricane watch
or warning. The purpose of the plan is to enable customers and
employees to prepare for the hurricane with maximum efficiency and
minimum loss or damage. In the interest of the safety of our employees,
Iron Mountain reserves the right to suspend service at any time.
HURRICANE WATCH
DEFINITION: A hurricane watch is issued for a specified coastal
area where a hurricane or a hurricane-related hazard is a possible
threat within 36 hours (National Hurricane Center, NOAA).
- Iron Mountain will make every effort to respond to your needs during a hurricane watch.
- Conditions permitting, limited local services will be available up to twenty four (24) hours prior to storm impact.
- Customers who wish to deliver records to Iron
Mountain may do so up to twenty-four (24) hours before the hurricane
makes landfall.
HURRICANE WARNING
DEFINITION: A hurricane warning is issued when a hurricane with
sustained winds of 74 miles per hour or higher is expected in a
specific coastal area within 24 hours or less (National Hurricane
Center, NOAA).
- Due to safety concerns, all local services provided by Iron Mountain will be suspended during a Hurricane Warning.
- Once the storm threat has passed and authorities lift
all warnings, travel restrictions and evacuation orders, Iron Mountain
will resume services as conditions allow.
