BOSTON (April 22, 2009) –
A digital record repository introduced last January by Iron Mountain
Incorporated (NYSE:IRM) has won a Product of the Year Award from the
Massachusetts Network Communications (MassNetComms) Council. By a vote
of MassNetComms members, Iron Mountain's Digital Record Center® for
Images won above related products in its category of Cloud Computing,
Virtualization and Data Warehousing/Storage.
“Innovation is the driving force behind the success of the
Massachusetts network communications industry,” said Mark Horan,
executive director of the Massachusetts Network Communications Council.
“The Product of the Year award recognizes new network communications
products like Iron Mountain's Digital Record Center for Images that
have achieved strong early sales and customer adoption.”
“We're thrilled to be recognized by the Massachusetts Network
Communications Council,” said Chris Churchill, vice president of
document management solutions for Iron Mountain, the global leader in
information protection and storage services. “Iron Mountain's Digital
Record Center for Images is an important new product for us as it
provides a secure repository for the records we've long scanned for our
customers. By adding it to our suite of document management services,
we can now offer companies one, integrated solution for managing their
physical records, imaging them and securely archiving them.”
Iron Mountain's Digital Record Center for Images provides businesses
with hosted storage and easy Web access to scanned images, PDFs and
other digital files, giving customers a complete solution for managing
the lifecycle of their information. Powered by IBM's Content Manager
OnDemand software, the Digital Record Center for Images is ideal for
companies handling large volumes of active documents. These types of
documents can include mortgage loans, credit files, personnel records,
sales contracts and credit card receipts. By making digital copies of
these documents readily available online, businesses can better enable
their employees to use and share information, regardless of its format
or location.
The Massachusetts Network Communications Council Annual Awards held
on April 14 recognized individuals, companies and products that have
made significant contributions to the state's network communications
industry. Honorees included Segway inventor and founder of FIRST Dean Kamen, Google Inc.'s Rich Miner and U.S. Congressman Edward Markey.
