Iron Mountain Adds to Portfolio of Federally Approved Record Centers with Hanover Park, Illinois Facility
Recent NARA approval makes Iron Mountain the largest national provider of compliant federal records storage space

Iron Mountain Incorporated ® (NYSE:IRM), a leading provider of storage and information management services, announced today that it has received approval from the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) for its records storage and secure shredding facility located in Hanover Park, Illinois, making it fully compliant with federal records storage regulations. With this approval, Iron Mountain becomes the leading NARA-compliant private sector storage company, providing both the highest total in cubic foot volume of NARA compliant storage space and the largest overall records storage offering of any NARA-approved commercial provider.
With government records facilities facing a shortage of available compliant space, this newly-approved records storage facility provides a much-needed alternative for storing records that may be burdening agencies at onsite locations. Iron Mountain’s Hanover Park facility offers a variety of services, including records management and secure shredding services, and becomes the eighth such NARA-approved facility in the company’s portfolio, bringing Iron Mountain’s total capacity to 5.2 million cubic feet of 36 Code of Federal Regulations part 1234 (CFR) compliant storage space.

This new facility follows the recent approval of the company’s records storage location in Bristol, Conn., and reaffirms Iron Mountain’s commitment to partnering with NARA and any other federal agency to alleviate over-subscribed federal records centers and leverage commercial best practices to deliver compliance, security, greater transparency and lower costs to federal customers. To date, Iron Mountain supports over 100 federal agencies with their records and information management requirements.
