Iron Mountain Completes PRISM International Privacy+ Certification to Ensure the Protection of Personally Identifiable Information
New certification program provides assurance that the company’s storage and tape backup services are compliant with all information protection regulations
Iron Mountain Incorporated®, the global leader in storage and information management services, today announced it has achieved the Privacy+ certification sponsored by PRISM from i-Sigma, a nonprofit trade association for the commercial information management industry. With this certification, Iron Mountain is making a public commitment to protect the privacy of information – physical and electronic – that they store and manage for its customers.
The Privacy+ certification is owned and administered by PRISM International from i-SIGMA and applicable to participating companies’ physical storage and handling of hard-copy records and off-line removable computer media. In completing this certification, Iron Mountain joins a group of companies in the records and information management industry in publicly demonstrating their commitment to ensuring the privacy of information in their custody; additionally, they pledge to help the industry by:
Iron Mountain also was a leader in the development of Privacy+, working alongside other PRISM International from i-Sigma member organizations create a meaningful program that addressed all aspects of information storage and protection. Iron Mountain also solicited the input of its customers, partners, thought leaders and other information management providers to ensure it was compliant with current industry, national and international standards for protecting private information.
