E-scrap and ITAD processors nationwide are disinfecting surfaces, changing work stations, modifying the ways they take in material, and more. The goal is to limit employees’ potential contact with the coronavirus. With more than 400,000 confirmed cases of COVID-19 across the U.S. and regulations limiting daily activities in a growing number of states, electronics recycling operations are adapting to the new normal. Most electronics recycling firms have made the determination that they are essential businesses under state and federal regulations. However, most are operating with a quarter of their regular staffing levels and have cancelled collection events and facility tours.
