According to a recent article by the Wall Street Journal, the unprecedented surge in people working from home because of the new coronavirus pandemic has caused a spike in demand for laptops and computer notebooks – at a time when PC makers have been struggling with disruptions to their supply chains and shortages of key components. The upshot: is that some U.S. computer shoppers are finding retailers with empty shelves. This surge in demand may cause upward pressure on the price of used computers that are remarketed in the secondary market. This would in turn enable ITAD customers to recover more value from their end-of-life laptops and notebooks.
