Iron Mountain Opens New Customer Welcome Center at Pennsylvania Underground Campus

BOYERS, Penn.-

Iron Mountain® Incorporated (NYSE: IRM), the global leader in storage and information management services, today announced the grand opening of its “Guardian Gateway” facility - a new customer welcome center at its underground campus in western Pennsylvania, located outside Pittsburgh.

Iron Mountain marked the opening of this center with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and guided tour. Guests included Butler County Commissioners Kevin Boozel, Kim Geyer, and Leslie Osche, State Senator Scott Hutchinson, State Representative Tedd Nesbit, and U.S. Representative Mike Kelly.

“Congratulations to everyone at Iron Mountain on the opening of their new Guardian Gateway welcome center,” said U.S. Rep. Kelly. “This exciting new addition to The Underground is great news for everyone in our community, from both an educational and economic perspective. It affirms Iron Mountain's commitment to staying a global leader in what it does best while providing opportunity for those who proudly call this area home.”

“It was exciting to participate in today’s ribbon-cutting for the new welcome center,” said Sen. Hutchinson. “Iron Mountain’s continued investment in the Boyers Underground is important for the many employees of the facility and the communities they call home.”

Rep. Nesbit remarked: “For so many years, Iron Mountain has been a great addition to Butler County, not only providing jobs to local residents but being a good neighbor, and we are happy the company has further invested in its location here.”

The new 11,600 square-foot facility, located outside the company’s premier campus in Boyers, Penn. – nicknamed “The Underground” – enhances the location’s physical security capabilities, as well as the security of customers’ shipments to the campus – such as servers and other hardware. The new $4.5 million facility, offers amenities such as conference rooms, office space, a lounge and kitchen and extended parking. Also, a new 5,600 square foot shipping and receiving area, adjacent to the welcome center, features three loading docks and enough secure storage to hold customer material from two semi-trucks.

The Butler County Board of Commissioners together remarked: “We are extremely fortunate to have this world class facility in Butler County that has immeasurable impact on world business, archives, and security. The new Welcome Center provides an outward face and even greater security for Iron Mountain and its customers and we remain committed to investing in surrounding County infrastructure that will improve access for customers and employees.”

Pennsylvania is home to Iron Mountain’s global business and customer operations centers in Collegeville and Royersford and more than 1,100 Iron Mountain employees throughout the state. More than 1,500 people, including 250 Iron Mountain employees, work at The Underground, a former limestone mine located 220 feet below the earth that provides capabilities for secure storage, imaging, data management and restoration, and data center capacity.

“We are proud to open this new addition to The Underground, our signature facility, which will serve as the primary focal point for visitors to our underground campus,” said Dale Lawing, senior vice president and general manager for Iron Mountain’s North Central region. “The security and safety of our customers’ information and data assets is our highest priority, and this new welcome center underscores that commitment while providing our customers with a modern, comfortable space while they visit the Boyers campus. We have deep roots in Butler County and are happy to continue investing in the community with this new multimillion dollar facility, bringing our total capital investment in our Boyers campus to nearly $100 million in just the past five years. ”
