  1. Our People

International Women’s Day

At Iron Mountain, our values are at the very heart of who we are. One of our values is to promote inclusion and teamwork throughout all the various parts of our company. This means we look for and value each other’s unique ideas and perspectives to get better results through these commitments:

  • Treating others with fairness, respect and empathy – always
  • Bringing together multiple skills and experiences to make important decisions or solve problems
  • Being curious and asking questions to broaden our perspective
  • Respecting different cultures—and work with global and regional teams to deliver local results
  • Building teams, at all levels, which reflect the communities we work in
  • Creating a safe and welcoming workplace
  • Ensuring diversity when recruiting, developing and promoting team members

Our inclusion & diversity strategy includes four critical focus areas:

  • Build a more inclusive culture
  • Increase workforce diversity at all levels
  • Establish a global mindset
  • Embed accountability

    key highlights

#balanceforbetter isn’t about the token female(s) in the room or on the board. It’s about making a conscious choice to seek diversity in perspectives, opinions, and life experiences which are inherent through diversity in gender, and beyond. It’s about seeking to effect a shift in our culture, and striving to achieve a state where gender balance doesn’t need to be a conscious choice because it’s naturally occurring in the workplace the same way it is in the biological environment. It’s about getting to a place where no women in a position of power needs to wonder whether her position was achieved on anything other than merit. It’s about removing the glass ceiling and overcoming the glass cliff.

Gender equality is linked to the culture of an organisation. In every workplace ensure women’s full and effective participation and give equal opportunities for leadership at all levels of decisionmaking. Make Things Equal Not the Same.

    Beril Guldur, Marketing Manager

" Gender balance to me means that everyone is treated the same with respect and fairness."

    our initiatives

We don’t only hire veterans because we believe it is the right thing to do. While we recognize veterans for their service and sacrifices—for safeguarding our freedoms and values—we know that members of our armed forces bring valuable skills to our workplace. That’s why we actively seek to employ and develop veterans, active duty guard members, and reservists, who are sources of strength, courage and integrity.

We work hard to ensure that our veterans find a home at Iron Mountain where they are considered prized employees. Do you know any veterans seeking post-military employment? Or service members about to leave the military service? Encourage them to explore Iron Mountain’s Careers Page.

One of the 11 founding members of the Veterans Jobs Mission

Iron Mountain is proud to be one of the 11 founding members of the newly named Veterans Jobs Mission, a coalition of companies aiming to hire a total of one million U.S. military veterans.

Through the Veterans Jobs Mission and our broader recruiting and engagement strategies, Iron Mountain benefits from the tremendous talent, skill and discipline that veterans bring to our team.

Our employees are active in the communities in which we serve by participating in Wreaths Across America, which is an annual effort to honor veterans by giving thanks to their service with the laying of wreaths on their graves. We also have partnered with the National World War II Museum as part of our Living Legacy Initiative, which is our company’s philanthropic commitment to help preserve and make accessible cultural and historical information and artifacts. The partnership supported the digitization and publication of oral histories in two permanent exhibits, “The Road to Tokyo” and the “Arsenal of Democracy,” so that the voices of the men and women who contributed in WWII will continue to be heard. The National WWII Museum has also provided learning opportunities to Iron Mountain employees both online and at the Museum.
