Spendrups Bryggeri is Sweden’s biggest and most prominent family-owned, independent brewery and the driving force behind brands such as Heineken and other carefully selected beers, wine, spirits, bottled water, cider and soft drinks.
Strict requirements
An opportune meeting at an event and subsequent conversations convinced the company to go with Iron Mountain®.
“It wasn’t easy to find a warehousing partner that was flexible, fast, and close to us,” adds Nylander. “Iron Mountain was also able to meet strict legal requirements for alcohol storage. The alternative would have been to use a number of suppliers which would have been cumbersome.”
Ticking every box
To satisfy concerns around security and ISO certifications Spendrups conducted a thorough assessment including an inspection of facilities and process controls. “Iron Mountain passed with flying colours and backed everything up with a robust SLA, which we’ve never had to call on,” says Nylander.
Guaranteeing storage for 7,000 pallets, importantly the Iron Mountain warehouse in Örebro fulfilled all the demands Spendrups had regarding temperature, humidity, theft prevention, security monitoring, leakage handling, insurance, and so on.
-“ Normally, it’s not a problem but lost production capacity meant we had to build up a large buffer supply of tinned and bottled drinks. However, we’d run out of storage space at our Grängesberg facility.”
