Mountaineers Focus On Goals At World Corporate Summit

While soccer greats racked up points at the World Cup in Doha, Qatar, last month, two Iron Mountain executives were discussing and setting some goals of their own just 45 minutes away.

CEO William Meaney and Ted Prittie, Head of Middle East, North Africa and Turkey (MENAT) operations, each hosted roundtables at the World Corporate Summit in Dubai. As a Prestige Partner, Iron Mountain was a major sponsor of this gathering of more than 2,000 executives and experts, held November 21 through December 15 at the Palace Hotel.

Roundtables cover the field

Meaney’s November 30 session, “The Era of Digital Transformation: Moving from Physical to Digital,” brought attendees up to speed on the latest trends and challenges in the digital records management discipline. Prittie’s November 23 session, “Where Are You on Your Digital Transformation Journey?” drove conversation about how roundtable participants, all from the emerging region, were managing their digital transformation.

“We have a vision for how we can help them transform,” says Prittie, “It starts with aligning Iron Mountain strategy with the vision of the UAE government. This can help banks, insurance companies, healthcare providers, and educational institutions digitally transform their business,” he explains.

Two decades of sustained growth

Iron Mountain entered the MENAT market in 2004. Subsequent expansion and acquisitions in the UAE culminated with the purchase of Glenbeigh Records Management in 2020. Our MENAT expansion continued this year with expansion into Morocco, establishing the North African market. Following this milestone, Iron Mountain’s purchase of InfoFort has added 12 facilities in eight new countries to the global roster.

“These moves have resulted in Iron Mountain becoming the region’s market leader, based on our international prominence combined with detailed knowledge of local markets,” says Prittie, head of the MENAT region. “We’ve invested in our facilities, staff, and fleet of vehicles to provide the leading service in the region,” he adds.

Support for a global, hybrid workforce

Prittie also notes that while the demand in the region for physical media storage and records has grown, digitization is a key objective: “Digital transformation can help MENAT’s businesses become more resilient to global challenges, even while operating a hybrid, international workforce.” Iron Mountain’s recently released Digital Mailroom Service is just one solution that companies can use to maintain hybrid workforces.

“Our participation in the World Corporate Summit reflects our long-term commitment to one of the world’s most dynamic business regions,” says Prittie.

The MENAT region is just part of Iron Mountain’s worldwide operations. Wherever you’re located, there’s probably an Iron Mountain location ready to meet all your information management needs. Visit our website to find the facility closest to you.
