Team 1771 is a primarily student-run robotics team at North Gwinnett High School in Suwanee, Georgia. They rely on donations and support from companies like Iron Mountain and community members to cover competition fees and parts for the robot, allowing them to keep club dues low and increase access for all students interested in participating.

The students proudly keep Enterprise IT informed of their progress and the impact of their support.

Innovation requires us to think differently and look to the future, and this investment in the community through Team 1771 supports the future of innovation. We’re encouraging a new generation to challenge what’s possible, just as we’re doing here at Iron Mountain, it’s really exciting to see their success and hear about their disciplined processes at such a young age.

Each January, FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) releases a new challenge for competing teams. In eight weeks, the team brainstorms and designs a prototype; manufactures, assembles, programs and tunes the robot; and trains drivers to operate the robot. Team 1771 calls on their values of team management, organization and compromise throughout this process.

This season, Team 1771 has won all competitions to date - including two district qualifiers and the district championships, competing against the best teams in Georgia and South Carolina. This month, the team heads to the World Championships in Houston, Texas.

We’re proud to support the next generation of innovators and thinkers. You can learn more about our own innovation here through our downloadable resources.
